Steps to a Winning Campaign is a comprehensive manual for individuals planning political campaigns published by the League of Women Voters of Arkansas. This publication has been the workbook for a series of Winning Campaign workshops held throughout the State of Arkansas. These workshops assisted individuals to plan and manage candidate and issue elections.

Edited by Mary F. Dillard with chapters by Dillard, Jim Lynch, Dennis Schick and Sherry Walker, chapter topics include self-assessment, voter research, developing a message, writing a strategy plan, raising money, and communicating with voters. It is readable and nonpartisan, and useful for city and county elections and issues as well as state elections.

Winning Campaigns is a project of the League of Women Voters of Arkansas funded through the League of Women Voters Education Fund with a grant from the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation. The primary goal of the project has been to encourage and assist citizens to become more involved in the political system by providing practical information on how to organize a winning election campaign. The project seeks to encourage people who are currently under-represented in elective office to become interested in election politics.
